"Dubai Has a Niche". MFK...Those who know.

It is already more than 3 months as Maison Francis Kurkdjian is in Paris Gallery, Dubai Mall.

Francis Kurkdjian (pronounced as “kurr-janh”) is a renowned perfumer (at the age of 15 he decided to become a perfumer despite his complete lack of technical knowledge) with scores of successful creations to his name, founded Maison Francis Kurkdjian in 2009 to fulfil his desire for a sensual, generous and multi-facetted landscape of free expression.

This is what "luckyscent.com" says about him:

"...Maison Francis Kurkdjian is not just another niche brand: its stated ambition is to become a house with “a soul and history”, the Guerlain of the 21st century. And if anyone can pull it off, it may just be the charismatic boy wonder who had already composed a blockbuster— Jean-Paul Gaultier’s Le Male— at the age of 25, and has since authored a slew of highly acclaimed scents, both mainstream and niche, from the cult Christian Dior Eau Noire to the best-selling Narciso Rodriguez for Her. The concept of Maison Francis Kurkdjian is both seductive and particularly well thought-out: a line of two colognes, one eau de toilette and two eaux de parfum (in a feminine and masculine version) for each moment of the day, from the clean morning smell of Aqua Universalis to the nocturnal rose and patchouli duet of Lumière Noire Pour Femme and Pour Homme. Three of these come with matching candles, room sprays and incense paper, so that your maison may be as sweetly scented as your skin. As a final touch of refinement, you can even treat your clothes to Maison Francis Kurkdjian laundry liquid and fabric softener. Of course, Mr. Kurkdjian’s house couldn’t anywhere else but in his home town, and the line’s spare, chic presentation echoes the zinc and gold rooftops of Paris. Once you’ve crossed the threshold of his romantic Maison, you may not want to live anywhere else..."

Currently there is a small counter for MFK however a big built-in counter is about to be opened soon.

We are in the Middle East and it is utterly difficult for a new brand in the market to have successful fresh line while rich sophisticated fragrances, like Oud collection from Francis Kurkdjian, have much more chances on immediate outcome.

The newest fragrance from Francis Kurkdjian is Oud Satin Mood.

I'm referring description of fragrance to "luckyscent.com":

"In the expert hand of Francis Kurkdjian, oud is more than a trendy ingredient or predictable element- it's a fabric, to be spun into pillow-soft, dazzlingly sheer compositions that take our breath away. Oud Satin Mood, the newest from this master craftsman, weaves a shimmering robe of oriental spices, exquisite oud, elegant florals and a mouthwatering base that combine to flow across the skin in delicate ecstasy. Each breath brings new delights, from the bright, lightly candied violet of the heady opening, to the smooth, purring Laotian oud that curls on contact with a regal Bulgarian rose essence and Turkish rose absolute, softening into a rich, vanilla-scented amber accord that gently caresses every inch of your skin in a cloud of pure sensuality. As befitting a satin garment this elegant, Oud Satin Mood would surely turn every head wherever you might go- but when it makes you feel this incredible, are you sure you don't want to stay in?"
